This Thursday, May 7, the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee will be holding a hearing on Improving Affordability in Healthcare, with virtual participation available.  This hearing will explore how health IT can improve affordability across the healthcare ecosystem, from backend administrative operations to clinical care to patient-facing tools.  Moderated panel discussions will highlight opportunities to advance efforts in this area.  Register →

DEADLINE EXTENDED: EHIgnite Challenge Now Closing May 20

The EHIgnite Challenge is now open until May 20, 2026.  This challenge seeks design solutions that make single patient electronic health information (EHI) exports easier to use and more valuable in real-world settings.  Submissions must include summarization and at least one EHI use case scenario, such as interactive patient tools, domain-based filtering, integration across settings, streamlined payer workflows, or a participant-defined use case.  Phase 1 offers up to nine $10,000 awards, and winners will be invited to Phase 2.

Battelle is seeking experts to serve on its Partnership for Quality Measurement (PQM) committees supporting Endorsement and Maintenance (E&M), Pre-Rulemaking Measure Review (PRMR), Measure Set Review (MSR), and its Scientific Methods Panel.  These groups are designed to represent a variety of voices and perspectives, including clinicians, health care facilities, purchasers, payers, policymakers, researchers, health IT professionals, and more.  The nomination period is open until June 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.  E-mail all questions to PQMsupport@battelle.org.
